Lynea Lattanzio is a 68 year-old woman from California who recently gave up her spacious single-family home, which included a swimming pool and a beautiful view, just to care for her beloved cats. In fact, Lynea now lives in a small mobile home so she can better care for the cats that she loves.

Describing herself as the “ultimate crazy cat lady,” Lynea estimates that she has adopted and rehoused over 28,000 cats during her lifetime. She can’t get enough of the beauty, independence, and grace that cats showcase to the world.

Using her own money, Lynea began adopting and rehousing cats in the early 1990s. She went on to become a vet technician, which allowed her to grow her mission and find the funds needed for cat food, litter, maintenance, staffing, and vets.

Lynea’s small trailer is located on a six-acre plot of land known as Cat House on the Kings. The property is California’s largest no-cage, no-kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats, and Lynea and her fellow volunteers care for about 800 adult cats and 300 kittens there. Every morning, the volunteers begin their feedings at 4am, and they also give medical assistance to any cat who needs it.

In the video below, you’ll see Lynea allow cameras in her home for the first time, giving the public a glimpse at what life with 1,000 cats in your residence is really like. The video has quickly gone viral, with people all over the world getting a kick out of it. Check out the video for yourself below!
