Kerry Grundhoefer is a 41 year-old woman who has had long hair all her life, and she decided it was time to change things up. Wanting to go to the very best, she headed to the Minneapolis salon of Christopher Hopkins, also known as The Makeover Guy, who specializes in giving makeovers to women over 40.

“Kerry Grundhoefer was ready to cut off all her hair and release the silver hair underneath. At 41 she’s a beauty,” Christopher wrote in the description of the video below this story. “Sensitivity to hair color, maintenance and a general feeling her hair wasn’t revealing her inner self allowed her to make the dramatic change. One way to grow out grey hair is gradually, but cutting it all off is another. We went with the drama.”

When the video opens, Kerry is wearing a blue scarf around her hair, so we don’t know how much length is coming off. What we do know is that Kerry is sick and tired of all the maintenance that goes into having long hair, and she’s ready for something different.

When Kerry soon reveals her long head of hair with auburn highlights. It does look like quite a lot to take care of!

When Christopher goes to work on her, it quickly becomes clear that a lot of her hair is coming off. This is not a look that Christopher does very often, but he knows Kerry can pull it off.

When we see the results of Kerry’s makeover for the first time, she’s a little choked up, but she absolutely loves it.

“I can’t even tell you how good it feels,” she said.

Her husband agreed that her makeover was perfect, saying, “it looks awesome!”
