Jade Kilduff is a young social media influencer whose goal is to increase exposure to sign language and to eventually “sign in all schools.” To make this happen, Jade posts videos online showing her and her little brother signing songs.

Christian, Jade’s little brother, has cerebral palsy, a brain injury, and visual impairment. Though he can hear, Christian’s family started signing to him as a way to communicate with him and it seemed to work well. Sign language allows Christian to better process conversations and music, which is his favorite thing in the world.

Jade and Christian are very close, and they came up with the idea to post videos of themselves signing to each other. In addition, Jade posts a “sign of the day” to help teach her followers how to sign.

In a recent video, Jade and Christian signed the song “Someone You Loved.” Christian can barely contain his joy as he signs and sings the song while Jade signs with him. It clear from the video that these two love each other very much!

The video went viral after it was retweeted by Giles Paley-Phillips. Once this happened, Jade responded, “I’m so grateful and feel so honored that you’ve chosen our video to post. Christian is my world and I’m so glad that awareness of the importance of signing is being spread.”
