Alfred Jackson, the half-brother of music legend Prince, was found dead last Thursday at the age of 66. He reportedly died in his sleep at his home in Kansas City, Missouri.

Prince left no will when he died in 2016, and Alfred was one of his six surviving siblings who inherited his fortune. Police found no signs of foul play, and it is believed that Alfred died of natural causes.

“I miss my brother, because my brother was everything in the world to me. God bless Prince, God bless the world. He’s a legend, he really is,” said Alfred’s half-brother Bruce Jackson, who was not related to Prince.

While Alfred had not seen Prince for a few years when he died, he was very proud of everything that the musician accomplished.

“He was so busy on the road because he had so many engagements with his music,” Alfred said. “So, he had to travel, all around the world. I always saw him on television, read the magazines, and said, ‘There’s my brother, Prince.’ I was so happy he was making it for himself, I really was.”

Alfred and Prince shared a mother, jazz singer Mattie Shaw. After Prince’s death, Alfred used the money from his inheritance to buy a home after living in VA housing for years, as he was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Prince passed away in 2016 at the age of 57 from an accidental opioid overdose. The “Purple Rain” singer remains dearly missed by millions of fans around the world to this day.

Please keep Prince and Alfred’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
