Champale Anderson is a mother of six who lives by a life motto that was said by Mother Theresa: “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

Champale, a healthcare provider from North St. Louis, Missouri, was saddened when she noticed the kids in her neighborhood were always hungry after school. That’s how she ended up coming up with an incredible, and incredibly selfless idea.

Five years ago, Champale launched her “Champ’s Teardrops” program, which aims to feed the underprivileged children in her community. Champale has enacted an open-door policy in which kids can knock on her door before and after school to retrieve one of the 100-plus lunch bags she prepares.

“I noticed the kids they are always hungry,” Champale explained. “They get off the bus and they take off running and they never know what I will have in the bag. I switch up and have special treats for my special babies.”

The bags are filled with things that kids love to eat, including peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cookies, fruit, vegetables, juice, snacks and a few surprises as well.

Now, Champale is asking for help to keep her mission going and expand it.

“My goal is … to go to different neighborhoods and give out bags,” Champale said, adding that she has already doubled her goal.

Local residents say that the most impressive thing about Champale’s mission is that she makes one hundred bags a day to hand out to hungry children! Find out more about this amazing woman in the video below.
