Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres just announced that she has adopted a new rescue puppy with her wife Portia de Rossi, and they’ve named the dog Mrs. Wallis Browning.

Ellen was very excited to announce the fact that she had adopted the new dog on her show.

“I’m talking fast because I’m excited because I want to tell you something exciting,” Ellen told her audience. “We rescued a puppy!”

She then shared a photo of her new dog, who could not be more adorable.

“She’s so cute, I can’t even take it,” gushed Ellen, who has long been an animal rights activist.

Ellen also shared a photo of Mrs. Wallis Browning admiring herself in a full-length mirror.

“She’s very adorable and pretty and precious. And she knows it,” Ellen joked.

We’re up for adoption ??? The brown and black ones are boys and the cream one is a little lady ? They are pure bred standard poodles. Their poor parents are only 3 years old and were used for breeding their entire life. Not anymore! We were able to rescue the parents too ❤️ The parents are getting fixed today and the kids tomorrow. We’re hoping they’ll be ready to meet you all this weekend! At the very least we will be accepting applications so just stop in any day this weekend from 11-5 (Address in bio). And thank you @sallysrescue for helping make it possible to save them ? It’s no small feat pulling 5 dogs from an unsafe situation. But you never hesitate when we ask for help. You are the best ? // #adoptme #adoptdontshop #adoption #adopt #rescue #rescuedog #rescuedogsofinstagram #dog #dogsofinstagram #puppy #puppiesofinstagram #love #cute #photooftheday #studiocity

Ellen explained that Mrs. Wallis Browning is a purebred poodle.

“For those of you who really want to rescue a dog but really want a purebred, know that you can rescue a pure-breed dog,” she explained. “They have them at rescues, so don’t use that as an excuse.”

She then revealed how Mrs. Wallis Browning was put up for adoption.

“Wallis is 3 months old. And she, unfortunately, was with some irresponsible people,” Ellen said. “She was kept in a cage outside in the desert since she was 2 months old.”

Happy #NationalDogDay from my 3 National Dogs.

Mrs. Wallis Brown joins Ellen’s other three dogs, Wolf, Augie, and Kid.

“They were mad. I think they realized they were going to have to split my fortune an extra way,” Ellen joked.

Ellen has long been vocal about her love for animals.

“They offer unconditional love in ways humans can’t — plus, they don’t talk back,” she said in 2017. “Unless you have one of those dogs who says, ‘I ruv you,’ in which case, please videotape it and send it to my show.”

We wish Ellen the best of luck with her new dog!
