Fan favorite Kodi Lee was crowned the winner of America’s Got Talent on Wednesday night right after he performed a stirring duet with singer Leona Lewis.

Kodi, a 23 year-old who is blind and autistic, was visibly stunned as confetti fell around him after his win. Earlier in the evening, he had moved many of his fans to tears with his performance of “You Are The Reason” in a stirring duet with Grammy Award-winner Leona Lewis.

“I feel so amazing; unbelievable,” he said after winning the $1 million prize.

The notoriously difficult to please judge Simon Cowell had previously called Kodi “extraordinary” and said he had a “beautiful tone.”

“Thank you so much for trusting us on this show. I’m going to remember this moment for the rest of my life,” Cowell said of his final performance.

In the end, it came down to Kodi and the Detroit Youth Choir before host Terry Crews revealed that the young man had won. After his win was announced, Kodi happily jumped up and down while standing next to his mom Tina as indoor fireworks went off around him.

Judge Gabrielle Union said that Kodi had “changed the world.”

“He changes every room he enters. And when he said, ‘I would be lost without you,’ I think the whole world would be lost if we had not found Kodi Lee,” she said, referring to his performance the night before of Freya Riding’s track “I Would Be Lost Without You.”

“I will tell you that all four judges and everybody in this room were up on their feet. You were wonderful,” judge Howie Mandel said. “Not only do we feel the authenticity of what you do, but you are a great inspiration and a great talent, and it was amazing.’

We wish Kodi the best of luck in the years to come! Check out his duet with Lewis below.
