An adorable video is going viral this week showing a mother of two from Spring, Texas put on a giant pink unicorn costume to surprise her daughter as she gets off her school bus.

Somer Scandridge, who describes herself as a “big kid for life,” said that the unicorn costume happened to come in the mail right before her 6 year-old daughter Madison was due to get home from school. Somer immediately decided that there was no time like the present to surprise her daughter, so she threw on the costume and headed out to surprise her.

As soon as Madison got off the bus, it immediately was clear that Somer had the right idea when she put the costume on. The video shows Madison with a huge smile on her face running towards her mom, who was dancing in the rainbow-maned pink outfit and tail. It’s clear that Madison already loved unicorns, because she is sporting a unicorn headband and a unicorn-themed backpack.

“When your daughter is young enough to think you’re still cool and not embarrassing,” Somer captioned the video.

The video has quickly gone viral, being viewed over 12,000 times in just six days.

“You are my inspiration. LOVE IT,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “I love everything about this!”

Somer later explained that she bought the costume because of a family tradition.

“Every year, my 4-year-old son and my 6-year-old daughter pick out their Halloween costumes, and whatever they pick, we match them,” Somer said. “My husband matches my son and I match my daughter.”

Needless to say, Madison chose unicorns this year.

“We’re a super close family and do a lot of stuff together,” Somer added.
