A compassionate Uber driver is being hailed as a hero by internet users everywhere after she surprised one of her passengers with a beautiful gift.

It all started when Lamiyah Jabbar picked up a woman named Diane one morning to take her to work at a Tim Horton’s restaurant in Buffalo, New York. As the two women talked in the car, Diane revealed that she was looking forward to Christmas because she was hoping to receive a new robe, house shoes, and a dress for church. This may not seem like extravagant gifts to some people, but Diane said she does not have much money to spend on herself because she uses most of her finances to help take care of her grandkids.

After Lamiyah dropped Diane off at work, she decided not to pick up anyone else that day. Instead, she headed to Old Navy to do some shopping. Lamiyah later returned to the Tim Horton’s where Diane worked to surprise her with a new dress and a $50 Visa gift card for the shoes and robe.

In the video below, you’ll see Lamiyah pull up to the restaurant’s drive-thru window to say hello. Diane did not recognize Lamiyah at first, but the driver then reminded her of their conversation before handing her a dress.

“This was on my mind from the moment she got out my car, so I had to contribute,” Jabbar wrote alongside the video. “Can you imagine waiting till Christmas just to get a robe, house shoes and a outfit for church? We tend to take things for granted, but why not help someone else if you can?”

Diane could not believe her eyes when she saw the gift.

“Oh my God. Thank you so much!” she said. “This has been such a horrible day and you just made this day so much better!”

Lamiyah later said that she offered to return to the Tim Horton’s later that day to give Diane a right home for free.

“I’m one of those people who’s like, you can’t tell me your issues and I can’t move on without helping,” she said.

Lamiyah added that she is hoping her video will inspire others to carry out good deeds like this one. Watch the surprise for yourself below.
