Few things are more sad in this world than serious childhood diseases, which is why it’s important to raise money to fund research and help those afflicted. That’s why a seventh grade boy is being hailed as a hero for doing just that!

Diesel Pippert is a seventh grader in the Western Reserves School District of Ohio who recently won $15,000 in livestock premiums from the county fair’s animal sale. After winning, Diesel shocked his adult peers by donating all of the money to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Impressed by this generous move, Diesel’s school took to social media to spread the word about his good deed.

“A young man lives amongst us who should be an example to us all,” the school district wrote on its Facebook page. “His donation of $15,000 will help to find cures for young children and save lives. Diesel, you are a hero!”

The post has quickly gone viral, with people all over the world praising Diesel.

“You have forever changed your community and world, Diesel, and I hope you’re reminded of that in miraculous ways when the commotion fades. Thank you so much for your donation,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “A philanthropist can be any age at all. And he can be an extraordinary example of compassion to all. Congratulations to Mr. Pippert and those who are teaching him true love.”

“What a special, special young boy,” a third user commented. “Your parents should be beaming with pride and joy to have such a giving, caring and loving human being for their boy. Congratulations to you.”
