Pineberries are a delicious type of strawberry that tastes like pineapple and bubblegum. They are a strawberry that has white flesh and red seeds, and they are seen as an improved version of the original South American strawberry. People all over the world have long been going crazy for wineberries because of their one of a kind taste.

Pineberries are hybrids of the wild South American strawberry Fragariachiloensis, which is very popular in Chile, and the North American strawberry Fragariavirginiana. The tiny berries are actually a product of cross-breeding, and they have nothing to do with GMOs.

The cross-breeding began a decade ago, with the first pineberries being brought to the market on April Fools’ Day in 2010. They were seen as a joke at first, but then they caught on big time.

To make pineberries, make sure that you have a pollinator strawberry and start with runners. For every four plants, you will need a “regular” strawberry plant to ease the pollination. The best pollinator for pineberries is considered to be the Sonata variety, especially the Natural Albino variety. Be sure to remember that hybrids can’t be grown from seeds.

You can eat your pineberries right away or keep them in the fridge for up to 3 days. To stop them from bruising and rotting, you should spread the berries in one layer or freeze them. You’ll find right away that pineberries are tasty and healthy, and that they have a unique flavor that will have you craving them over and over again.
