Just because someone has reached an advanced age, it doesn’t mean they can’t have fun still. Now, a video is going viral that shows this in the best way possible.

The senior citizens who live at The Oaks At Northpointe in Zanesville, Ohio just had a whole lot of fun when they were given the chance to enjoy a Slip N Slide for the day! This facility is not your average nursing home, as it is known for having “no long, barren hallways or depressing décor.”

“Instead, our rooms are filled with warmth, the smell of home cooked food, and friendly people who never pass up an opportunity to say hello,” the nursing home continued.

One of the things The Oaks At Northpointe is best known for is their Senior Health and Wellness Day, and that’s what the video below shows. On this sunny day, staffers gave the elderly residents the chance to be transported back to their youths by setting up a Slip N Slide for them. This summer staple features a long, slick mat that is covered with water, and young people all over the world absolutely love to have fun on it. Why shouldn’t senior citizens be able to get in on the action as well?!

Though most people use their bodies to slide down a Slip N Slide, this could be dangerous for the elderly residents. Undeterred, staffers set up a special float that allowed the residents to be strapped in. Once they were secured, two staffers would guide the float down the slide at a controlled speed.

In the video below, you’ll see one resident slide across the Slip N Slide with a huge smile on her face. It’s clear that she is enjoying herself! Video of the senior fun day has quickly gone viral, garnering over eight million views and reminding people all over the world that age really is just a number.
