A video is going viral this week showing Christian singer Mark Lowry teaming up with an airline pilot to sing “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.”

The author of this classic hymn is not known, but we do know that it was first recorded in 1941. It has since become incredibly popular for it’s moving lyrics and jazz-like feel.

“Just a closer walk with Thee
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea
Daily walking close to Thee
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be”

Mark was recently traveling through an airport in Lynchburg, Virginia when he was recognized by an airline pilot, who told him that he could play “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” on the piano. The airport happened to have a public piano that anyone can play, so the two sat down to play on it. That’s when the two sat down to belt out the iconic lyrics of the hymn.

As the pilot plays the hymn, Mark sings along to it, and pure magic happens. By the end of the chorus, both of the men are singing, and each of the men are showing off their incredible talents. With this impromptu performance, the two men gave thanks to the lord in the best way possible.

Video of their performance has quickly gone viral, being viewed over 215,000 times.

“A pilot that has a close walk with Jesus is just what I need when flying. If I could choose who flies me from place to place it would be him,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “This is what l love..Doing or hearing Gospel music anywhere, anytime. What a treat, and l thank you gentlemen….truly wonderful! God has blessed you both with amazing talents!”
