Pop music icon Lady Gaga has just announced that she will be funding dozens of classroom projects in American cities that have been targeted by recent mass shootings.

The singer announced that her Born This Way Foundation will be teaming up with Donors Choose to fund the educational needs of students in El Paso, Texas; Dayton, Ohio; and Gilroy, California. She will be funding a total number of projects and resources of 162 classrooms in these cities.

“My heart goes out to those who were taken from us too soon and to their families, loved ones, and communities who are left to grieve,” Lady Gaga wrote on Facebook. . “Everyone has the right to laws that make them feel safe in their communities. In this moment, I want to channel my confusion, frustration, and fury into hope. Hope that we are there for each other and for ourselves.

“Surviving and recovering from these tragedies also means prioritizing your mental health and checking in on your loved ones,” she added. “If you’re struggling, please be brave and tell a trusted someone. Don’t be scared to ask for help, I beg you. If you see a loved one struggling, please be brave and reach out, remind them it’s ok to not be ok, and listen to them.”

It’s so refreshing to see a celebrity going above and beyond to help people in need. We would love to see more celebrities step up and use their money to help others in just the way that Lady Gaga is. Find out more about what she is doing in the video below.
