The 1967 Lincoln Continental limousine that was once owned by Elvis Presley is about to be auctioned off at a Mecum Auctions event in Monterrey, California. The vehicle had been a wedding gift to Elvis and his new bride Priscilla from the singer’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, at the time of their marriage.

“From the wedding through the early 1970s, this limousine served the family well, carrying Elvis, Priscilla and their only child, Lisa Marie, around town, on trips and to countless engagements,” the auction house stated. “As such, this car has the distinction of having been regarded by ‘The Memphis Mafia’ as the Elvis Presley Family Car; the tales this car could tell, if only it could talk.”

The limousine was built by limousine specialist Lehmann-Peterson, and it includes a four-passenger rear compartment with rear-facing jump seats and a custom console equipped with a radio and climate control system.

The vehicle is one of many cars the Presley family owned, and they used it for many years in the Memphis area before it disappeared into his collection. Chicago car collector Tom Petrozzini later bought the car and only used it occasionally, but he eventually completely put it away in storage. The limousine remained in storage gathering dust for decades until it was until it was rediscovered after Tom’s death in 2014.

Though the body off the car is sound, interior is worn, with torn upholstery and missing trim pieces. In addition, a ton of rust has appeared under the hood and on its 462 cubic-inch V8.

The limousine is set to be auctioned off on Saturday without a reserve price.
