It’s well known that humans hate going to the dentist, but now, a video is going viral showing that dogs don’t like it either!

Bret Mortimer of Salt Lake City, Utah is the proud owner of a 2½-year-old Labrador mix named Fritz, and it finally came time for her to schedule him for his first teeth cleaning. She felt terrible about leaving Fritz at the dentist for so long, but at the end of the day, she also knew it was necessary for his overall health.

“I had never done it before,” she explained. “I heard that they can get diseases that make their lives shorter, so I was like, ‘gotta do that.’”

When Bret returned hours later to pick Fritz up, she could tell right away that the dog was anything but pleased. Fritz was usually a friendly and happy dog who was overjoyed to see her again whenever they were separated for any length of time, but not on this occasion.

“Something was a little bit off and he was not happy to see me,” Bret said. “I don’t think he was angry, but he was definitely ticked off.”

Fritz proceeded to give Bret the silent treatment, even turning his head away when she moved closer so that he wouldn’t acknowledge her. Bret whipped out her phone to start recording the punishment, and the video quickly went viral, being viewed over two million times!

“A lot of people were like, ‘Oh, this is me when I’m mad at my boyfriend,’” Bret said. “It was just pretty relatable.”

Thankfully, all it took was a quick walk when they got home for Fritz to forgive Bret.

“He loves me. We are good pals,” Bret said. “I was a little heartbroken for a second, but I put him through a rough day, so it’s all good.”
