An adorable video is going viral this week showing an English bulldog sharing a kiss with a wild manatee.

A man was out kayaking in Florida with his dog Frapp when a manatee suddenly swam up to them. The man was scared at first that the manatee might topple their boat over, but his concern soon turned to joy when he saw how Frapp reacted to their new friend. After the man warned his dog to be careful with the manatee, the two proceeded to touch noses for a little bonding time.

The video is warming the hearts of internet users everywhere, as it’s always touching to see videos of creatures that are different species interact and bond with one another. If only humans could do the same thing with other people who are different from them!

“So sweet! Animals are so much better than humans,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Bull doggies are just soooo sweet, really neat video.”

“In that dog’s past life he was a sea creature, and it’s all coming back to him,” a third user added.

It should be noted that the general rule around manatees is to “look, but don’t touch” because they are protected under federal law by the Endangered Species Act of 1973, which makes it illegal to harass, hunt, capture or kill any marine mammal. If you see a manatee out in the water, you should observe the animal from afar and do not touch it.
