Everyone loves a good hard boiled egg, and it’s about the simplest food to cook except sometimes eggs either end up being too soft or overly cooked. Now, a top cook has just revealed how you can easily make the perfect hard boiled egg!

The first step is to place the eggs in a saucepan and then fill the saucepan with water until the water rests at one inch above the eggs. Once you have done this, put the eggs on a high heat until the water simmers, and when it does, turn the heat off. At this point, you should seal the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, and leave the eggs in it for 17 minutes. Be sure not to take the lid off for the entire 17 minutes.

Once the time runs out, empty the hot water from the saucepan and fill the pan with cold water. Then, tip the cold water out and fill it up with cold water once more, since the first load of cold water was just meant to cool the saucepan down.

Leave the eggs in the cold water for 20 minutes, and when you take them out, peel them under some running water before enjoying them. This method of making hard boiled eggs may be time consuming, but we can assure you that it’s well worth the effort! There really is nothing like a good hard boiled egg to start your day out right.
