A viral video from 2015 has just resurfaced, and it shows singer Ed Sheeran surprising a young fan as she sang his song in a shopping mall.

Sydney Bourbeau was just 13 years-old when she was singing in a Canadian mall as part of a fundraiser for the local Humane Society. Since Sydney was a huge fan of Sheeran, she decided to perform his song “Thinking Out Loud,” and she had no idea that a huge surprise was about to happen to her!

Sydney had no idea that Sheeran happened to be in the very same mall that day with his cousin Murray Cummings. As the two walked around they were stunned to hear Sydney singing one of Sheeran’s songs. As Cummings held the camera, Sheeran approached Sydney with a sly grin on his face.

Nobody noticed Sheeran until he literally walked onstage, and the crowd immediately went viral. It took a few seconds for what was happening to actually register to Sydney, but once it did, she could not believe what was happening!

As Sydney tried to compose herself, Sheeran grabbed the microphone and started performing a duet with her. This is every fan’s dream come true!

It turns out that Sydney actually wanted him to stop singing so that she could talk to him.

“I was like, should I stop? I didn’t want to stop, but I wanted to talk to him,” she said afterwards. “This is, like, the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Even so, Sydney was still able to finish off the song like a pro!

By the end of the song, the two were harmonizing perfectly! Once they were done, the crowd went wild, and they finished things off with a hug.

This is definitely a day that Sydney will never forget! Check out the performance for yourself below.
