Deputy W. Kimbro of Somerville, South Carolina is being hailed as a hero after he saved the life of a 12 day-old infant while making a routine traffic stop.

When Kimbro pulled over as vehicle for speeding, he had no idea that he was about to save a baby’s life. As soon as he pulled over the car, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and started screaming about the fact that a 12-day-old baby girl in the backseat wasn’t breathing. The baby was in the process of choking to death after drinking milking from a bottle.

Not wasting any time, Kimbro acted on instinct and took action. He immediately saw that the baby was “limp and cyanotic” and turning blue, so he began massaging the area around her heart as he took her pulse. He then started performing CPR on the infant as his body camera recorded everything that was happening.

“Come on baby, cry for me, cry for me,” he pleaded with the infant, desperate to hear her cries, as he knew that would signify that she was safe. Thankfully, he was able to save the baby’s life, and he has since been awarded for his heroic deed.

Video of the harrowing ordeal has quickly gone viral, with people all over the globe praising Kimbro for staying calm in such a stressful situation. With so many negative stories about cops constantly being reported in the press, it’s nice to see something positive go viral!
