A man from Arizona just came upon a disturbing creature that can only be described as the stuff of nightmares.

The man was so stunned by the spider, which looked to be some kind of spider-scorpion hybrid, that he just had to snap a photo of it. The creature has since been identified as a camel spider, which is also known as a wind scorpion. This type of creature has certain traits that make it similar to both a spider and a scorpion, and while it has pinchers and a jaw that makes it look more like a scorpion, it is actually an arachnid.

The man found the creature living inside his house in Phoenix, and while he had lived there for 37 years, he had never seen anything like it before.

While it looks like the camel spider has ten legs, it actually only has eight, with the other two being chelicerae. This is actually part of the spider’s mouth, and it is used to transfer sperm to the reproductive tract of a female.

Camel spiders can grow to be big enough to eat lizards, birds, and some small rodents.

“We do have a small pet, and I wouldn’t want anything to hurt her, she’s kind of old,” the homeowner said.

This type of spider is not poisonous and it is unlikely that it will hurt you. However, this does not make the creature any less scary to look at!
