When Lindsey Ogletree of Dallas, Texas gave birth to her son Brody, she sadly never got to bring him home, as he was born with over a dozen birth defects. Brody spent the entirety of his short life in the NICU before he passed away at the age of 13 months. While his life was a brief one, Lindsey made it her mission to ensure that it had a beautiful purpose.

Though the months Brody spent in the NICU were difficult, Lindsey never felt alone there. The other mothers of babies who were living there were always there for Lindsey, and she will never forget the friendships she created with them. That’s why she decided to honor Brody’s memory by doing something nice for the other mothers.

After Brody passed, Lindsey teamed up with her new friends to make care packages for the mothers of children at Medical City Children’s Hospital. They filled the care packages with everything a new mom could want, like baby blankets, tissues, water tumblers, books, hygiene products, and other comforting items.

On Mother’s Day, Lindsey and her friends delivered the care packages, giving their fellow moms a beautiful gesture of love and support. None of the mothers wanted to join this sisterhood, but getting this support made their situations a bit easier.

“We are able to help these moms and minister to these families because of Brody,” Lindsey said. “Such a tiny baby, but he’s what started all of this. Even though his life was so short and only 13 months, he did so much in those 13 months and he’s touched so many people and we just want to keep that going.”

God bless Lindsey for turning her son’s tragedy into such a beautiful gesture to help other mothers!
