David and Megan Green are a couple from Huntsville, Alabama who were alarmed when they noticed something was wrong with their 11 month-old daughter Kinsley, so they rushed her to the doctor to get some answers.

Though doctors initially thought that Kinsley simply had a blood infection, further tests found that she actually had acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which she was diagnosed with in October of last year.

Kinsley had to start receiving treatment immediately in Birmingham, a three hour drive from the Greens’ home, so Megan took leave from work to be with her little girl. David, who works tirelessly as a football coach and history teacher at Mae Jemison High School, then had to make the hours-long commute between Birmingham and Huntsville just to support his family.

David took as many sick days as he could to be with his family, but eventually, he ran out of days that he could take off. Back in March, Megan took to social media to see if any of his fellow teachers would mind donating some of their sick days to David so that he could be with his family for Kinsley’s treatment. They only wanted around forty sick days, but they ended up getting a whole lot more than that!

The teachers at Jemison High School came together to donate over one hundred sick days to David, which just goes to show that teachers take care of one another when one of their own is in trouble!

Kinsley still has a long road to recovery ahead of her, but thanks to David’s fellow teachers, he will be there with her every step of the way. Find out more about the teachers’ incredible act of kindness in the video below.
