Back in 2016, 21-year-old Donovan Bulger was tragically killed in a devastating accident. Afterwards, his organs were used to save the lives of people all over the country.

“A year ago we received a letter from the recipient of his heart,” his sister Savannah explained on Facebook. “I wrote back and put some pictures of Donovan along with it so they could put a face to his new heart. I told him he has a heart of pure gold.”

Last month, Savannah and her family attended a St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium on Transplant Awareness Day. The family all went wearing bright green T-shirts with a photo of Donovan printed on the front along with the words “brother, organ donor and hero.”

As the family posed for a photo outside the stadium, they were suddenly approached by a woman who asked, “Are you Donovan’s family?” She had recognized Donovan’s photo on their shirts, and at first Savannah had assumed that she was someone who had known her brother. Much to their surprise, the woman was actually the recipient of Donovan’s heart!

“I think Donovan arranged us to meet this way,” Savannah wrote on Facebook. “What are the chances of this happening?!? I’m still in complete SHOCK!!!!! Thank you Angie for making our shirts!!!!! If it wasn’t for us wearing them, this never would have happened!!! We would have walked past each other & would have never met!!!!!!”

This is definitely a day that none of them will ever forget. Find out more about this in the video below!
