Last week, the world was overjoyed when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child, a baby boy they named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Immediately after the birth, Harry headed off to the Netherlands for a quick one-day visit to launch The Invictus Games, a multi-sport event that he founded in 2014. While he was there, Harry received tons of presents for his new baby boy, including a onesie for Archie that was given to him by Princess Margriet of the Netherlands.

Daimy Gommers is a 7 year-old girl who was eager to give Harry a present for his son. The Invictus Games are important to Daimy because her father has competed in them for the last few years after he lost a leg in a parachuting accident.

When Daimy came face-to-face with Harry, she presented him with a rattle for Archie to play with. Harry was so touched by the gift that he responded by giving her a huge hug, much to her surprise and delight!

Daimy’s mother joked that while it was “nice” to see Harry again, the royal was “a bit ashamed because the present was for his son not for him but he had unwrapped it.”

“He looks well and he’s got lots of energy to be here and he’s always so spontaneous,” she added. “He remembered meeting Daimy before, he’s always really good with children. I think he’s a terrific father.”

As they introduced Archie to the world last Wednesday, Harry and Meghan were eager to thank all their fans for their support.

“Thank you, everybody for all the well-wishes and the kindness,” Meghan said. “It just means so much.”
