One month after Sara Gilbert announced that she was leaving the CBS talk show “The Talk,” it has been announced that Marie Osmond will be replacing her.

It was confirmed by the network on Tuesday that Osmond will be joining hosts Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood when the show returns in September for it’s tenth season.

“I have so much gratitude in my heart today. I am honored to be here. And, I am so excited to be here. To be able to sit at this table with these beautiful women is just a dream come true for me. I always wanted sisters,” Marie said. “To Sharon Osbourne, they introduced me as Marie, not Marie Osmond, because there is only one Mrs O. at this table. You are brilliant, you are strong, and over the nine years that I have come in and co-hosted and everything, I’ve learned so much from you and I respect you so much.”

“Sara, I adore you, and as the creator of this show, you are such a good actress, an amazing producer, look what you created and everybody knows that whatever you touch is going to be successful,” she continued. “Eve, So the first time we met, there was this instant connection, then we hung out in Vegas and it was sealed. You are so smart, and you are as beautiful inside as you are outside.”

Marie previously worked with Carrie Ann on “Dancing With The Stars,” and she made it clear that she’s excited to do so again.

“Carrie Ann, getting to know you. I just have to tell you, your honesty is amazing. And for you to be able to share things that have been, so difficult, you have touched so many lives, and you have touched my life and I love you,” she added. “To Sheryl Underwood and you my little beam of light, I swear, you are the most joyous person I have ever been around. And it doesn’t matter if someone is having a bad day or a good day or whatever it is, you always find the laughter, that is a gift. And you, you’re incredibly intelligent, and I love you, you are my sister.”

Angelica McDaniel, executive vice president of daytime programs and syndicated programs development at CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution, said that the network is very excited to have Marie onboard.

“If you’ve seen Marie Osmond guest host on The Talk over the past nine seasons, you know she’s the perfect addition to the show,” she said. “Marie’s impressive career accomplishments have endeared her to fans throughout the decades. Her willingness to be authentic and share personal triumphs and struggles with honesty in the hopes of helping others always resonates. I’m excited to kick off season 10 with the multi-talented, dynamic Marie at The Talk table.”

However, one source said that some of the women on the table aren’t as excited about Marie as it seems.

“They feel a better replacement for Sara would have been someone younger and edgier … not the 59-year-old singer,” the source said. “But, the bosses laid down the law, and Marie is a go.”

Regardless, Marie will add a new perspective to this roundtable, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the show! Good luck, Marie!
