Most of us think of overripe tomatoes as things that are of no use to us and should therefore be thrown out. What you likely do not know, however, is that these overripe tomatoes can be used to make new tomatoes if you simply place them in dirt.

The man in this video was about to throw away his overripe tomatoes when he inadvertently stumbled upon a hack to grow new ones that is quickly going viral. The man found that this hack is the best way to grow tomatoes in less than a week, and he did not even need a garden or tools to do it! Instead, all he needed was dirt, a bucket, and one overripe tomato.

In the video below, you’ll see that it took less than a minute for the man to slice the tomato into four pieces. It then takes him even less time and effort to throw the pieces into a bucket of dirt and sprinkle more dirt on top of them. Just one week later, he found that the tomato had turned into beautiful tomato seedlings. Believe it or not, it really is that simple!

The seedlings multiplied each day, and within a few weeks, he was able to pull the large seedlings out and put them into another pot to get better results. Sure enough, they soon became deliciously fresh tomatoes that he could enjoy eating with his family!

Video of the hack has quickly gone viral, being viewed over 18 million times. Check out the video for yourself below!
