Few things in this world are more adorable than a happy puppy, which is why it should come as no surprise that this puppy Matilda is stealing the hearts of internet users everywhere.

Matilda may be a happy pit bull now, but life has not always been so easy for her. Matilda had been living as a stray in Georgia ever since she was two months-old, and when she arrived at the Douglas County Animal Shelter, she had worms in her stomach and irritated skin.

Despite everything that she had been through, Matilda was still visibly happy when she arrived at the shelter, much to staffers’ surprise. In fact, she was so happy that she could not stop wagging her tail, and it did not take long for her to win over everyone who worked there.

“She gave the most sweetest kisses,” said Santina Sanders, who volunteers at the shelter. “She was the cutest thing ever.”

Teresa Bowles-Chiofalo of Pibbles & More Animal Rescue also fell in love with Matilda, and when the puppy was healthy enough, she took her out of the shelter and placed her in a loving foster home. As they made the 90 minute drive to her new home, Matilda was so happy that she did not stop wagging her tail once!

Kerrie Rich, Matilda’s new foster mom, immediately fell in love with her just as everyone else has.

“She wags her tail so hard that she walks crooked,” she said.
