It’s been over 50 years since “Gilligan’s Island” was on television, but it remains one of the most comedic television shows of all time.

Running from 1964 to 1967, the show told the story of seven eclectic characters who went on a three hour tour on The Minnow, only to end up stranded on a deserted island together. One of the most popular characters was the Marilyn Monroe-like movie star Ginger Grant, who was played by actress Tina Louise.

In the decades since the show was on, Tina-Louise has continued to thrive as an actress and an artist. She turned 85 earlier this year, and she still looks as amazing as ever!

Tina Louise is the only surviving cast member of “Gilligan’s Island” aside from Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann. Tina Louise recently made a rare public appearance in Los Angeles, where she looked as glamorous as ever wearing a floral-patterned midi dress with a low-cut neckline.

When asked if there would ever be a reboot of “Gilligan’s Island,” Tina Louise replied, “I don’t think so. They keep saying they will, but they don’t.”

Tina Louise’s career began when she was just a teenager, when she appeared on Broadway in “Li’l Abner.” She won a Golden Globe in 1958 in the New Star Of The Year Category for the film, God’s Little Acre, and she continued to appear on stage and screen for the next few years until she got the part of Ginger.

After “Gilligan’s Island” went off the air, Tina Louise tried to distance herself from Ginger a bit. She was the only member of the cast not to return for the 1978 movie Rescue From Gilligan’s Island, saying at the time, “I can’t deal with going back, I like now.”

Since then, Tina Louise has warmed up to Ginger a bit more, and she still enjoys the support and love she gets from fans to this day.

“I get letters every day at my house,” she said. “I appreciate the fact that they love the series. I once had somebody come up to me in a restaurant, She said she was sorry to interrupt, but that her husband was dying of cancer and liked to look at the show every single day. That was very, very important. I respect the fact that people like it so much.”

It’s so nice to see that Tina Louise is doing so well after all these years. Check out some of her best moments as Ginger below.
