A truck driver from Baker County, Florida is being hailed as a hero after saving an elderly woman when her car plunged into a creek.

Chris Miracle, 26, was out driving for work one night at around 2am when he noticed flashing lights coming from the woods near a church. He kept driving for another half mile, but he could not stop thinking about the lights, so he turned around.

“Something didn’t feel right so I turned around,” he said.

As he looked for the lights in the woods, Chris finally caught sight of a car plunged headfirst into a creek around 40 yards off the road. Running to the vehicle, he opened the door and found a 77-year-old woman trapped inside.

The elderly woman had been driving when a mishap with her medication caused her to veer off the road. The woman could not open her door and she did not have a phone on her, so she was left trapped in her car with no way to get help. All she could do was turn on her hazard lights, play gospel music, and pray for a miracle.

It turns out that a miracle quite literally did come to her in the form of a man named Chris Miracle.

The woman, who has not been named, is now recovering in the hospital and is doing well. She spoke out to thank Chris for saving her life and for being the miracle that she prayed for. As for Chris, he believes God sent him to help the woman that night.

“God’s work,” Chris said. “Right place, right time. It was meant to be.”
