Laurel Shedeen decided that it was time for her to make a change in her life. That’s why she traveled to Minneapolis from her home in Hanover, Minnesota to get a makeover from Christopher Hopkins, also known as The Makeover Guy!

Laurel went to beauty school when she was younger, so she thought she knew how to style her hair. Christopher, however, quickly showed her that her beauty school skills are no longer en vogue.

When Laurel was initially asked what she wanted her makeover to be, she said that she wanted to lose 60lbs and come out looking like Jennifer Aniston. She continued to bring this sense of humor to the table throughout the day, and she was touched by how kind and accommodating Christopher’s team was.

When Laurel walked into the salon, she had long, curly gray hair that was losing its volume. She explained to Christopher that she used to give herself haircuts, telling him that she would give herself bangs by tying a rubber band on her hair and cutting it. Christopher even said that he could still see the parts of her hair that she cut herself!

After her makeover, Laurel said that she had learned how to style herself when she was younger, but she had never relearned this as she got older.

“I want to learn how to look good again,” she said. “I’m not trying to be 30 again but I don’t want to look 70, either.”

Social media users can’t get enough of how Laurel looked after her makeover.

“What a happy video! She looks stunning and her vivacious personality really shines through! Way to go everyone!” one person commented, with another adding, “Omgoodness! I bet she made you all laugh the entire day! Total package right there…. looking good and a sense of humor!! Fantastic!”

When asked what her husband would think of the makeover, Laurel had a funny story to share.

“A few years ago, I went to beauty school and walked out with purple hair,” she said. “And he said I lived with the purple, I can live with anything. I think he’ll like this.”
