Those who live on the street of Mountain View in Pflugerville, Texas are used to seeing the ubiquitous white and beige houses that are on most streets in the United States. However, everything changed for them after Emilio Rodriguez moved into their neighborhood.

Emilio was only 4 years-old when he was in a horrific car accident that left him permanently paralyzed from the waist down. He spent years undergoing surgeries because of this, and he remains wheelchair-bound to this day.

Throughout everything that he has been through, one thing that has always put a smile on Emilio’s face is the color pink. The color has always kept him calm and boosted his spirits as he went through all of his medical procedures.

When Emilio finally bought his dream home in Pflugerville last year, his girlfriend and family begged him not to paint it pink. Emilio ignored them, however, and decided to do it anyway! He found the perfect shade of Pepto-Bismol-pink paint and covered his entire house with it, saying that he was going for a “pink slime” look.

And Emilio is not stopping with simply painting the house pink! He also plans to add a pink-tiled driveway and pink spotlights in the yard, and he would like to paint his wheelchair pink as well.

Many of Emilio’s neighbors are furious about him painting the house pink, and he says that he has received nasty comments about it. In the video below, Emilio lets his neighbors know that they better get used to his pink house, because there’s nothing they can do about it!
