A 17 year-old boy from Idaho has just found himself becoming a viral sensation after he asked his grandmother to his junior prom.

With his junior prom at Minico High School in Rupert just over a week away, Kody Leonard finally got a date when his grandmother Sindy Gray finally said yes to his creative promposal. This came after Kody posted a video to Facebook on February 28 showing Sindy putting together a puzzle that showed a photo of her with her grandson along with the question, “Will you go to prom with me?”

The puzzle brought Sindy to tears, and she finally agreed to go with him last Friday.

“The way that she answered was by using a big red wooden chair and having a sign on it that said, ‘Kody’s in time out for making his grandma cry,’” Kody said. “She was thinking of a creative way and said that she can put me in time out.”

Kody said that he has gotten lots of positive responses from people all over the world ever since the initial video of the promposal went viral.

“I told a lot of my friends before I asked my grandma. They gave me tips on how to ask and they thought this idea was a very cute one,” he said. “They have been pretty supportive of this.”

Kody added that he has always wanted to bring his grandma to prom as a thank you for all that she has done for him in his life.

“My grandma has done so much for me and I wanted to do something back,” he said. “The thing I am most excited about is sharing this experience with her.”

We hope Kody and Sindy have a great time at prom together!
