An adorable video is going viral this week showing a royal guard break the rules to make a child’s day in the cutest way possible.

In Stockholm, Sweden, a team of highly trained royal guards steadfastly guard the royal palace. Like the English Royal Guard, they have strict rules when it comes to how they must act when they are on duty.

Like the guards who stand guarding Windsor Palace, the Swedish royal guards are not allowed to speak to bystanders nor are they allowed to break rank in any way. They typically follow these rules, but every once in awhile, they are caught on camera making an exception for someone. That’s exactly what happens in this video!

The video below this story shows a soldier named Josefin Korsbäck “being awesome” for a small child who clearly idolizes members of the royal guard. The video opens with the child, whose name is Oscar, doing a great impression of a royal guard as he stands in front of Josefin.

When Oscar moves his legs from attention to at-ease, Josefin does the exact same thing. The boy then does a sharp about-face and begins to stride across the cobblestone streets towards the palace, and sure enough, the guard immediately follows suit.

The pair continue to stride around the cobblestone together as onlookers look on with joy. The video has quickly gone viral, being viewed nearly 800,000 times. Social media users all over the world can’t get enough of the footage!

It’s always fun to see royal guards let lose and have some fun.
