Animals may not be able to speak our language, but they always seem to be able to sense when something is wrong with us. Now, a story is going viral that reminds all of us that animals can tell when humans are going through something.

An elderly man from New Zealand had recently had surgery and was released from the hospital to recover at home. There, a stranger’s cat realized that he needed some love, and he snuggled right up to him!

The man’s wife snapped a photo and his son Andrew Falloon posted it to Twitter, where it quickly went viral.

“Mum arrived home and found them cuddled up together on the couch,” Andrew said. “She snapped the photo before waking Dad up. He was pretty surprised to find the cat curled up!”

Andrew could not believe just how viral the image went!

“After Mum sent me the photo I popped it up on Twitter, thinking it might make a few people smile, but I never expected it would go so far,” Andrew continued. “When I went to bed on Sunday night (New Zealand time) it had a couple of thousand views, when I woke up it was in the millions. Now it’s in the tens of millions.”

The mystery was soon solved, as the cat was revealed to belong to their neighbor.

It’s always so heartwarming to see the love and affection that animals show to humans! God bless this cat for going above and beyond to cheer up a human in need.
