Every country in the world has their own national anthem that highlights some of the best parts of the nation. In the United States, our national anthem is “The Star Spangled Banner,” which was inspired by the American flag and it’s 50 stars and 13 stripes.

The national anthem is traditionally played before various sporting events and celebrations throughout the country.

In the video below this story, you’ll see two all-female soccer teams partaking in a playoff game on a Tuesday afternoon. Suddenly, the young women hear the national anthem start to play at the nearby Malstrom Air Force Base. As soon as they hear the national anthem playing, all the players stop what they are doing and the referee stops the clock. Like the proud Americans that they are, all of the players stand respectfully with their hands on their hearts as the national anthem continues to play.

The spectators and coaches all stood at attention as well, showing a level of patriotism that we unfortunately do not see enough of these days.

This video serves as a reminder of how important it is to take pride in our nation and in our national anthem.

“Tuesday afternoon, as the Bison girls were hosting Butte in a Class AA playoff game, the national anthem played from Malmstrom Air Force Base at 4:30 p.m. just like it does every day,” the video description reads. “In the middle of the 1-0 game in Great Falls, both teams stopped. The head referee stopped the play clock for a minute as teams paid their respect to the flag. And then the game resumed.”
