An incredible video is going viral this week showing the moment an employee with Southwest Airlines serenades the mother of a fallen Arizona trooper as she travelled to Louisville, Kentucky.

Debbie Edenhofer’s son Tyler was killed in the line of duty last July while working as an Arizona State Trooper. Over the weekend, the stirring video was posted to social media by Sean Warren, who was on the flight when the employee began to sing to Debbie.

“So today I got on my flight to Louisville, wearing my headphones, taking up as much space as possible so that no one would sit by me,” Sean wrote. “Sitting comfortably in my personal universe listening to one of my favorite jams, the public address crackled and one of your flight attendants interrupted me. He stated that we had a mother on the flight whose son had been killed in the line of duty as a state trooper. He then proceeded to sing her a beautiful song.”

Sean went on to thank both Debbie and the airline.

“I just want you to know I think we should have more interruptions like this,” he wrote. “In fact, it is no interruption at all. It actually makes things quite clear. And it shares, in a public way, a private burden this family carries. To the flight attendant….thank you for leading us and for honoring them. To the mother…..’Thank you’ seems so utterly inadequate. May you be blessed daily in your thoughts of your son’s service and sacrifice. May heaven give you in abundance what you missed here on earth.”

At the time, Debbie was traveling to attend a ceremony where a bench was to be dedicated in honor of her son at Skyview Park in Jeffersontown. Debbie said that she was “so blessed” after the “amazing” gesture and called it a “great tribute.”

The employee has since been identified as Scott Wirt, Operations Agent for Southwest Airlines in Phoenix.

“It’s a passion of mine to be able to give back to our customers in the way I know how and that’s by singing. This particular story touched my heart and I couldn’t think of a better way to honor their son’s legacy by singing such a wonderful song,” Scott said. “We never know why someone is traveling but when we do we want to be there for them. Southwest gives me the freedom to be myself and celebrate with our customers or be a shoulder to cry on in times of need.”
