Louis Tomlinson is a 27 year-old member of the famous British pop band One Direction. Recently, Louis took some time out of his busy schedule to help an elderly widower cross an item off his bucket list after his wife’s death.

Richard is an 83 year-old taxi driver who has been mourning the death of his wife of 60 years ever since she passed away in 2016 from complications due to Alzheimer’s disease. Meanwhile, Louis has been mourning the deaths of his mother, who died of leukemia, and his sister, who died of an apparent heart attack.

When Louis and Richard met for the first time last month at the latter’s home in Yorkshire, they quickly realized that they had a lot in common. Louis was happy to learn that Richard loved to sing, and he also revealed that he had made a list of things to accomplish with his wife before she died, but didn’t get to finish. Louis offered to help him cross off some items on this bucket list, and Richard happily accepted this offer.

Louis and Richard proceeded to go on a rollercoaster; fly in a helicopter; get tattoos; drive race cars; and sing on stage for a packed stadium. Louis ended up using footage from their adventures to make a music video for his song “Two of Us,” which he wrote for his mother.

“This video feels particularly relevant and powerful to me,” Louis wrote on Instagram. “Richard is a classic example of a fearless man who in light of tragedy still pushes himself to live with as much laughter and happiness as possible.”
