Meghan Markle is set to give birth to her first child with Prince Harry any day now, and to celebrate the occasion, her extended relatives back in the United States just held a baby shower.

The family of Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, is from Jonesboro, Georgia, and it was there that this baby shower took place. The Duchess of Sussex herself was not in attendance, however, as she remains at her home in the United Kingdom on maternity leave in anticipation for the birth.

“Strong women run in our family. She’s a strong woman and we are very proud of her,” said one of Meghan’s cousins.

The baby shower had a British theme and was complete with royal decorations, finger sandwiches, and tea! Meghan’s official baby shower took place in New York City, and was thrown for her by the tennis champion Serena Williams, a close friend of hers. Meghan having a baby shower was seen as controversial by some, as it violates royal protocol to do so, but the duchess has made it clear in the past few months that she has no problem breaking the royal rules at times.

This comes after it was announced that Meghan will not reveal that her baby was born right away, and will instead introduce the child to the world at a later time. While nobody knows for sure when she is due, it is believed that Meghan could be giving birth sometime in the next few days because her mother Doria has already made her way to the U.K. from her home in Los Angeles. Also, the heavily pregnant Meghan was not at church services on Easter Sunday with the rest of the royal family, which suggests that her due date is near.

Please keep Meghan in your thoughts and prayers as she prepares to give birth to her first child!
