A father from Montana is inspiring people all over the world after he dropped 92 pounds in five months because he couldn’t keep up with his kids on a hiking trip.
It all started back in 2017, when Jeremiah Peterson of Missoula weighed 290 pounds. The 40 year-old father decided to take a hiking trip with his wife and his three children, who were 9, 7, and 6 years-old. Jeremiah was stunned when he could not keep up with his family and constantly found himself gasping for air.
“Instead of remembering all the good memories we had made on this trip all I can remember is this one thing that kept playing in my head over and over again,” he wrote on Instagram. “I found myself running out of breath and having to take breaks way before my [kids].”
It was this experience that let Jeremiah know that he needed to get in shape. He began by cutting alcohol out of his life and adhering to a ketogenic diet. In addition, he spent two hours hiking and one hour at the gym every single day.
In just 150 days, Jeremiah lost 92 pounds and shrunk from a size 42 pant size to a size 33, and he can now run up the same hiking trail that once left him struggling to breathe. Now, he’s trying to inspire others to change their lives with his Instagram account.
“Finding your reason why is essential if you want to achieve success in life,” he wrote. “If you don’t have a strong reason behind your actions you are less likely to get the results.”
Jeremiah’s story serves as a reminder that it’s never too late to turn your life around and get healthy!
