Humans have been using ginger to treat a wide variety of ailments for hundreds of years, as it is known for it’s antibacterial, antiviral, anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory effect. Now, medical experts are speaking out to say that ginger really does work when it comes to treating various types of conditions.

Ginger is known for having a zesty, peppery flavor, which makes it both delicious and nutritious. Antioxidants are what make ginger so useful medically, and it also contains tons of therapeutic compounds such as gingerol, shogaol, paradol and zingerone.

Ginger is full of vitamin C and is abundant in magnesium, which allows it to boost immunity, enhance digestion, relieve pain, cleanse the liver, relieve the symptoms of asthma and treat cardiovascular disease.

You can consume ginger in numerous ways, whether you want to have it fresh, dried, ground, in pills or juices. One of the most delicious ways to consume ginger is through ginger tea, which is surprisingly easy to make. All you need is:

  • ¼ tsp ginger
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • 1 cup water
  • Coconut milk
  • Organic honey

First, boil your water and add in your spices, then turn the heat on low and simmer for ten minutes. Once you have done this, add in your coconut milk and then throw in some honey to make it taste even better. It really is that simple! If you start drinking ginger tea regularly, you will soon see your overall health improve in many ways!

While there are no side effects to ginger, you should ask your doctor before you start using it, especially if you are trying to treat a specific medical condition.
