Driver Finds Abandoned Puppy In Ditch In Wisconsin Cold

Tegan Griffith was making her daily commute to work earlier this month when she noticed something moving in a ditch on the side of the road in the cold Wisconsin weather. It was only when Tegan pulled over and got closer to the ditch that she realized that what she had seen was an abandoned puppy.

Tegan knew she could not leave the shivering puppy behind, so she scooped him up and brought him inside her car so that he could get warm. She documented her experience on Twitter, writing, “Sooo… I found a puppy in a ditch on my way to work this morning. How was your day?!”

“It ran away from me at first. I went to find a snack in my lunchbox and it had snuck up behind me,” she continued. “All I had that would interest this little lover was a Sargento Cheese Balanced Breaks – the white cheddar/nuts/cranberry one. It was either that or salad.”

She named the puppy Larry, and she “snuck” him into her office by hiding him in her vest!

She contacted various animal shelters about the dog, and The Forest County Humane Society soon returned her call. “You know what they said?” she asked on Twitter. “Oh! You found NUMBER FOUR!”

“It turns out little Larry (center) has three sisters,” she continued. “A very bad person (VBP) dumped them in a rural, wooded area not far from our home. His sisters were dropped off yesterday by an acquaintance of the VBP. Which means Larry stayed out overnight, alone.”

Larry’s sisters could not have been happier to be reunited with their brother!

Larry and his sisters are still living at the shelter while the veterinarian treats their various ailments. In the meantime, the shelter has received over $12,000 in donations as well as numerous requests to adopt the puppies. It’s clear that they will each find loving forever homes in no time!

While Larry’s sisters are up for grabs, Tegan will be adopting him and taking her home with him as soon as he is medically cleared. We wish little Larry the best of luck in life!
