Eight years ago, a devoted grandmother from Minnesota named Marianne decided to buy the book written by Christopher Hopkins, better known as The Makeover Guy. At the time, Marianne was still happy with the way she looked and was not ready to make a change, but she never forgot about Hopkins and his work.

Two years ago, Marianne decided to let her hair go gray when she could not decide on what haircut to get.

“When you’re sixteen or eighteen years old you get to try a whole bunch of cool stuff and find your own way,” Marianne said. “But there isn’t as much help out there to figure out what you should do when you’re getting older.”

Aging is a difficult process that involves the body going through numerous changes that include graying hair, wrinkles, and greater chances of weight gain. Though some people are able to take these changes in stride, others end up being unhappy with the way they look.

At 56 years of age, Marianne was loving life as someone who had raised her children and was having fun with her grandkids. All she wanted was to look as good on the outside as she did on the inside, which is why she travelled to Hopkins’ salon in Minneapolis.

Marianne explained to Hopkins that she has had a pixie hairstyle ever since she was 5 years-old, when her uncle chopped off her ponytail. Hopkins decided to revamp her pixie hairstyle in a way that brings out her beautiful eyes, and he gave her a new hair color to make her look decades younger. Marianne was loving the way she looked when she saw her makeover!

“When I got here I was feeling 56 going on 75 plus and now I feel like 56 going on 30 and it’s fabulous,” she said.

“I want to be a glam gram ’cause I’m a new grandma. and I really feel like a glam gram,” Marianne said.
