Many girls spend their lives planning their dream wedding, and when it finally arrives, they want it to be perfect. For one bride in China, however, her dream wedding turned into a nightmare when her groom’s ex-girlfriend showed up in a bridal gown begging him to take her back.

A shocking viral video shows the emotional former girlfriend telling the groom “it was my fault” as she falls to her knees at the altar while the bride looks on in shock. She burst into the wedding right as the groom was getting ready to kiss the bride, who eventually walked away with an angry expression on her face.

Since the video has gone viral, it’s been reported that the groom broke up with his ex-girlfriend because they had two very different personalities. He seemed to be completely stunned when his ex-girlfriend showed up at the wedding.

The wedding emcee was also taken by surprise by the dramatic scene, and he can be heard saying in the video, “we have an unexpected situation here” before adding “perhaps this is the reality of love.”

Trying to salvage the wedding as the bride made her exit, the emcee quoted a Chinese proverb by saying, “If you ask life what love is, it is to devote your life to someone else.”

Though the groom desperately tried to calm his bride, she still left in disgust along with her family.

Social media users have largely sided with the bride and condemned the ex-girlfriend for ruining her day.

“Do not destroy other’s relationship to satisfy your own obsession,” one user commented, with another adding, “This is exactly why you can’t be friends with an ex.”

“This is more than inappropriate,” a third user wrote. “From the stand point of the bride, how could the wedding carry on?”
