Morgan Miller had an emotional moment this week as her husband Bode Miller taught their new baby to swim nearly one year after their 19 month-old daughter Emeline Grier tragically drowned.

Morgan took to her Instagram on Monday to post about Bode teaching their 6 month-old son Easton to swim in their pool. Morgan posted a photo of Rekey getting his swimming lesson along with the caption, “I cried tears of hope watching my baby boy learn this life saving skill… and then tears of sadness because it was all I had to do to keep my baby girl here.”

The next day, Morgan took to Instagram again to show Easton getting another swimming lesson through a program called Infant Swimming Resource’s Self-Rescue (ISR) which teaches babies to roll onto their backs and then “float, rest and breathe” until help arrives.

“Day 2,” she captioned an image of Easton with the ISR swim instructor. “So proud of you baby boy.”

Later on, she posted a video showing Easton lying on his belly and wearing a diaper as he looked at his mom with a smile.

“Did you like swimming lessons? Did you float?” Morgan asked her little boy.

Emeline tragically drowned last summer when she fell into a neighbor’s pool. Afterwards, Morgan posted a photo of her cradling her little girl in her arms as she was given oxygen.

“I wish I could have one more day to hold you, but until that day comes, continue to work through me and give me the strength to bring awareness, my love,” she wrote at the time. “I told you as I held you in this moment that you could still change the world, you could still move mountains. Every step we take forward is because of you and Levi. Your footprint will forever be left on this world. I love you, My baby girl.”
