Last month we reported that Clark Gable III, grandson of the legendary star Clark Gable, had been found dead at the age of 30. Now, an autopsy has confirmed that the young actor and television host died of a drug overdose.

In the autopsy report released by Dallas County, it is revealed that Clark Gable III died of a fatal dose of fentanyl, oxycodone and alprazolam (generic Xanax). He was found dead in bed by his fiancé on the morning of February 22, with his official time of death being listed as 9:11am. He is pictured below with his sister Kayley.

Chaos ensued after the young man’s death after his father John Clark Gable refused to both pay for his funeral and have him buried in the family plot, where his legendary grandfather is buried. Kayley claimed that when she called their father to tell him of her brother’s death, he “hung up” on her and sent her an angry text message.

“I’m sorry for your loss. This is what I want. Cremate him he’s not going in my family’s plot and I’m not paying for anything,” John allegedly wrote to her. “All of you use my Fathers name in disgrace and you don’t want me to go to the media believe me. Leave me and my Father out of this drug mess. There are no services on my end. Kayley is to never call me. Sorry for your loss I’m done it’s just that simple. Respect my wishes.”

Kayley fired back at her dad on social media, claiming that he “tortured us,” “got us high” and “did drugs in front of us as kids.”

Clark Gable III spent two seasons hosting the television show “Cheaters,” and the program’s creator Bobby Goldstein just spoke out to say that while he was aware he took drugs, it never affected him at work.

“While it’s true I have heard from others that Clark indulged in drugs, of the many years, almost a decade I’ve known him I never saw him on drugs,” he said. “Clark was a beautiful boy, he was a beautiful soul. He was the spitting image of his grandfather on screen and I’ve never thought of him other than the most earnest, kind, loving friend and it’s been a great pleasure to work with him. He was a great colleague and a great host on Cheaters.”

It’s incredibly sad to see a young man lose his life in this way and to see all the arguments that have ensued in his family afterwards. Hopefully, the Gable family will be able to put aside their differences and focus on remembering the son and brother they all lost. Rest in peace, Clark Gable III.
