Toni Harris just made history by becoming the first woman to play college football on a full scholarship.

As a student at East Los Angeles College, the 22 year-old athlete had already made history by becoming the first woman to play college football for the school. Now, she is making history once again after signing a letter of intent to play defense at Central Methodist University in Missouri with a full scholarship.

“Toni Harris has shown great resolve in her journey and quest to be a college football player,” said Bobby Godinez, her coach at East LA College.  “She has shown herself to be a great teammate at East Los Angeles College and a great member of this community. We all wish her the best in her journey beyond ELAC.”

Toni, who appeared in an ad for Toyota that ran during the Super Bowl, is hoping to take her athletic career even further by becoming the first female player in the NFL.

“I always try to push myself every single day and keep my faith in God to let me go as far as I want to go,” Toni said before appearing in the commercial.

This is far from the first time Toni has beaten the odds in life. At just 18 years-old, she beat ovarian cancer, and she has since become the first person in her family to attend college. Coaches have always told Toni not to aim too high when it came to football, but in her characteristic fashion, she never gave up.

The sky is the limit for this young woman, and we would not be surprised if we see her in the NFL in the near future!
