A photo went viral showing a true moment of kindness that occurred in a subway station, of all places. Commuters typically are in a big rush to get to and from their destination and rarely are focused on much of anything else.

However, this candid moment shows an elderly man taking the time to teach a young man how to tie a tie.

It all started when the woman wearing the red coat in the picture below noticed the young man struggling to tie his tie. Walking up to the younger guy, she asked him, “Do you know how to tie it properly?”

“No ma’am,” he responded.

The woman tapped her husband and said, “Come to this side [where the young man was] and teach this young man how to tie his tie” with absolutely no judgement in her voice.

“The older gentleman moved without hesitation [almost a reflex response] and gave him a step-by-step tutorial; then – afterward – the elder gentleman watched the young gentleman repeat the steps and show him that he had it,” the person who captured the moment recalled. “I was some distance away (but close enough to hear the exchange), and got even closer to snap this candid photo of the tutorial in progress before hopping on the train. I LOVE THIS!”

With all the negativity in the world today, it’s easy to forget that there are still people out there doing kind things for one another. We applaud this gentlemen for being so kind as to teach this young man how to tie his tie!
