Kayla Rose is a 17 year-old girl from Irvington, New Jersey who was recently taking her dog out for a walk around her neighborhood at around 7am when something happened that she never saw coming.

Kayla’s puppy Milkshake heard a strange scratching sound coming from nearby. After the dog alerted Kayla to it, she looked around trying to figure out where it was coming from. Much to her horror, the teenager soon realized that it was coming from the trunk of Nissan Altima parked along the street.

As Kayla walked up to the car, she felt both anxiety and fear, as she had no idea what was going on.

“Hello?” she called out timidly when she reached the trunk.

From inside the trunk, a male voice started screaming, “Hello! Help me, help me!”

Without hesitating, Kayla sprinted to a neighbor’s house to get help before running to tell her mother what was happening.

“She said it looked like she was in a horror movie,” her mom said.

Police rushed to the scene and freed the man from the trunk. The man was in his late teens or early twenties and he was covered in bruises and scratches. The man’s hands had been bound with rope, and since it was freezing cold outside, officers said it would only have been a matter of time before hypothermia set in.

Kayla is now being hailed as a hero, with authorities praising her for taking action and thanking God that she was in the right place at the right time. Find out more about this in the video below.
