These days, slang words are used in everyday conversation but many find some of these slang words to be utterly annoying. Now, the results of a new survey have been released showing which slang words Americans find to be the most irritating.
The survey was conducted by market researchers at OnePoll, and it looked at the use and knowledge of modern slang by 2,000 Americans. In the end, the survey found that the word “GOAT” is the most annoying slang term with “bae,” “hangry,” “Gucci,” and “ghost” rounding out the top five. Other slang terms that made the top twenty most annoying included “stussy,” “TFW,” “totes,” and “clap back.”
The survey also found that most Americans believe the cut-off age to using slang should be 43, with one and four saying that those over 25 are too old to continue using slang.
In addition, thirty-seven percent of people believe that using slang in the workplace is always unacceptable, while fifty-five percent were completely against using “lol” in an email to a boss.
